KOREATECH(한국기술교육대) 문리HRD학부 MSC센터에서는

서울대와 공동으로, "Optimization for Big Data" 라는 주제로 두번째 강연(Seminar)를 개최합니다. 1차와 2차로 나누어서 강연을 진행합니다. 시간은 각각 50분 강의/10분 휴식 형태의 2시간 강의 형태로 진행합니다. KOREATECH에서 개최하는 1차 강연은 최근 많은 분들이 관심을 가지는 대용량의 데이터를 효율적으로 처리하기 위한 Proximal Splitting Algorithms에 대한 전반적인 overview를 진행할 예정입니다. 서울대에서의 2차 강연은 무한 차원에서의 Proximity 개념에 대한 강연이 있을 예정입니다.  Inverse Problems, Signal/Image processing, Machine learning/Data Mining, Statistics등등의 관련 분야에 관심있으시며 Operator Theory 및 최적화 방법론 기반의 대용량 데이터 처리를 위한 알고리즘 및 이론에 관심이 있으신 분은 매우 도움이 될듯합니다.

Short-Bio: P. L. Combettes received his Ph.D. degree from North Carolina State University in 1989. In 1990, he joined the faculty of the City College and the Graduate Center of the City University of New York, where he became a Full Professor in 1999. Since 2000, he has been with the Faculty of Université Pierre et Marie Curie - Paris 6, laboratoire Jacques-Louis Lions, where he is presently a Professeur de Classe Exceptionnelle. He was elected a Fellow of the IEEE in 2005, with the citation ``For contribution to set-theoretic methods and convex analysis in signal and image processing''

제목: Proximal Splitting Algorithms in Data Science

초록: In recent years proximal splitting algorithms have become prominent tools for solving a wide array of data-driven problems. We provide an overview of the field and report on recent developments in the area of complex structured optimization problems. In particular, we present a new block-coordinate approach to tackle problems of very large sizes. Applications to machine learning, inverse problems, and image recovery will be discussed.

2차 강연

제목: Proximity in Banach Spaces: Conjectures and Recent Results

초록: We review the notion of proximity in the classical sense, in the sense of Moreau, as well as in the sense of Bregman. Some open and recently closed conjectures are discussed, as well as applications in the area of splitting algorithms for inverse and machine learning problems.
