| 초록본문(Abstract) | Seki Takakazu inaugurated a theory of equations in 1680's and obtained determinants and resultants earlier than European contemporary mathematicians. He generalized the technique of \textit{tianyuan} of Zhu Shijie of Chinese Yuan Dynasty to express polynomials and algebraic equations. Seki's generalized technique of \textit{tianyuan} was employed successfully by Seki's disciple Takebe Katahiro. In this talk, we shall survey the generalized technique of \textit{tianyuan} as developped by Seki Takakazu and Takebe Katahiro. |
