초록본문(Abstract) MathLibre is a new project started from March 2012. It is the direct descendant of KNOPPIX/Math, then we have 10 years experience of introducing open source mathematical software. The first distribution of KNOPPIX/Math was the annual meeting of Mathematical Society of Japan(MSJ) at the University of Tokyo, March 2003. After that, every annual meetings of MSJ, we released new versions and distributed thousands of CD and DVDs.

In recent years, we consider mathematical software is more important research tool for investigating mathematics. We use \TeX{} system for writing articles. And Mathematica and Maple are very famous general purpose commercial computer algebra systems and used for researches and educations. There are a lot of open source professional tools for investigating mathematical research areas, GAP, Macaulay2, PARI/GP, Risa/Asir, Sage, Singular, etc. are developed by mathematicians. On the other hand, mathematicians are using mathematical software as an educational tool, especially, Sage became well-known educational tool for university students and GeoGebra is the most popular dynamic geometry open source software, it's translated over 50 languages.

MathLibre provides these open source mathematical software, libraries and programming environments. You can copy it and redistribute it freely. The default language environment of MathLibre is English, but it's easy to rebuild the other language environments supported by Debian GNU/Linux. For example, we have Chinese, Japanese, Taiwanese, and Korean editions, now. Anyone can rebuild it with your favorite configurations and packages and documents.
