초록본문(Abstract) | The aim of this study is to present and examine a population model that assumes nonuniform species spread in a spatially heterogeneous environment. It is noteworthy that the movement of species is closely related to their survival and extinction. Therefore, we investigate the effects of nonuniform diffusion on species fitness and population dynamics. To achieve this, we observe the stability of nontrivial steady-state solutions. Our approach is based on examining the eigenvalue problem corresponding to these steady-state solutions. Our study confirms that nonuniform species dispersal can increase their fitness in most cases, but not always. This talk is based on theoretical work with Wonhyung Choi and Inkyung Ahn. |
