초록본문(Abstract) After the COVID-19 pandemic, the role of mathematicians has once again been highlighted in terms of the modeling actual phenomena the quantification of interventions. In this talk, we introduce the process of applying the Maximum Likelihood Estimation methodology to the epidemiological investigations for mathematical modeling and discuss the results of modeling studies of the Middle East Respiratory Syndrome outbreak in Korea. Our model considers the super spreader, healthcare workers, patients, and hospital visitors, and stochastic simulation runs present the range of risks that could occur. Finally, scenario-based analysis emphasizes the importance of initial response measures in situations where emerging infectious disease occurs. This research is expected to be a useful tool to respond to the initial epidemic of the next pandemic.
