초록본문(Abstract) Proteins are studied in diverse fields such as biomarker development, cancer target drug research, and protein-protein interactions to address important biological questions. This is because proteins, which are translated from DNA, are related to the vast majority of biological functions such as development, aging, and are essential for all organs and tissues. Additionally, they are differently expressed according to the external environment.
Proteomics is the large-scale study of proteomes, which are sets of proteins produced in an organism, system, or biological context. Proteomics, based on mass spectrometry coupled with liquid chromatography (LC-MS/MS), is an increasingly utilized approach to gain insights into biological systems.
This presentation will introduce the basic technique of proteomics based on mass spectrometry and the utility of mathematical sciences for the identification and quantification of proteins in proteome research.
