A Meeting between PDE, Geometry, Probability, and Data

김영헌
(The Univ. of British Columbia)

O

This meeting will bring leading researchers from PDE, geometry, probability, and machine learning, to promote communications between these areas, and to let junior researchers and graduate students know recent progress. A unifying theme is optimal transport theory where Alessio Figalli, one of the recent Fields medalists, has made breakthrough contributions. Optimal transport theory has been developed mainly through interactions with other areas; Figalli himself made striking results in regularity theory of the Monge-Ampere equation, quantitative stability of isoperimetric inequalities, universality of random matrices, which on the surface look very different from each other.

Recent Trends in Arithmetic Geometry and Representation Theory

김완수

)

O

Since the latter half of 20th century, number theory has expanded its horizons beyond what has been traditionally regarded as number theory, integrating various elements from algebraic geometry and representation theory. Nowadays, we see more and more deep interrelations between number theory, arithmetic geometry and representation theory, such as the work of Peter Scholze's, a Fields medalist in 2018. We hope that this focus session could provide a glimpse of such trends.

Quantum computation and quantum information is an interdisciplinary research field that lies at the intersection of quantum physics, computer science, and mathematics.
In particular, the field has developed revolutionary information processing and innovative communication technologies, which are infeasible without exploiting the principles of quantum mechanics.
This session aims to discuss recent mathematical results focusing on quantum computation and quantum information.

● 특별세션 (Special Sessions) 발표

Each session is composed of a series of talks on a specific topic in any area of the mathematical science. Special Session and Contributed Talk will be respectively timetabled in a concurrent time slot. Talks are invited in any area of the mathematical science, with acceptance at the discretion of the organizers. If your talk falls under the heading of one of the special sessions already listed, please contact one of the session organizers before submitting an abstract, as special sessions have limited time slots.

Automorphic Forms and q-Series

최도훈
(고려대)

O

O

Automorphic forms play important roles in number theory and other aeras in mathematics such as topology, combinatorics, mathematical physics and so on. In many cases, automorphic forms can be expressed as q-series. For example, Taniyama-Shimura conjecture suggests that a q-series generating numbers of points of an elliptic curve over finite fields is an automorphic forms. In this sesion, recent progresses on these two closely related topics will be disscussed.
