Research and Education in Financial Sciences, Whither To Go?

 Overview : Our department has made a great experiment in research and education under the sponsorship of the WCU program of the Korean Ministry of Education, Science and Technology. Very likely Shanghai will become one of these attracting spots for financial engineering. Korea is presently out of the map of prestigious places. Our objective was to put Korea in this map. We have chosen an interdisciplinary approach, putting together mathematicians, economists, and experts in finance. At the workshop we will review our achievement and search for a new direction. We would like to invite everybody who is interested in seeing, evaluating, and benchmarking this development and welcome his/her constructive comments.
