특별세션 (Special Sessions) 발표

Each session is composed of a series of talks on a specific topic in any area of the mathematical science. Special Session and Contributed Talk will be respectively timetabled in a concurrent time slot. Talks are invited in any area of the mathematical science, with acceptance at the discretion of the organizers. If your talk falls under the heading of one of the special sessions already listed, please contact one of the session organizers before submitting an abstract, as special sessions have limited time slots.

Dynamics of Singular Structures in Fluids

Turbulent structures in fluids including tornadoes, typhoons and sharp fronts are effectively modeled by solutions to the fluid equations containing singularities. Therefore, understanding the dynamical behavior of such singularities can give insights on the turbulent behavior of fluids. In this session, we discuss recent mathematical developments on the theory of singular solutions to fluid equations.

Applied Algebra and Optimization

The various fields of applied algebra are related to optimization theory, and in recent years they have been used in various applications such as big data, information theory, and the theory of computation. In addition, industrial mathematics, which has recently been in the limelight, is organically connected with the above mentioned research fields of mathematics, and it has also been originated from joint efforts to find solutions to many industrial problems. This special session is organized for a meeting place to explore the recent development in the fields of applied algebra, optimization theory and the theory of data analysis.

수리생물학을 위한 데이터 기반 방법과 모델 기반 방법
Data-Driven and Model-Driven Methods for Mathematical Biology

Data-driven methods, especially machine learning approaches, can magically uncover hidden biological structures and interactions such as protein structures and gene regulation. Model-driven approaches, while traditional, are nevertheless essential for predicting and analyzing the associated dynamics of a given biological system by using physics and mathematics-based models As more detailed experimental data has recently become accessible for biological systems, the interplay between data-driven and model-driven approaches has been one of the most important skills in mathematical biology. Performance of machine learning for solving PDEs can be much enhanced with physical model-based constraints. Parameters of mathematical models can be inferred with AI-based probabilistic and statistical techniques. In this session, we will discuss what mathematical and statistical techniques have been recently utilized for data-driven approaches and model-driven approaches in mathematical biology
